Stephanie's bio

In the coming weeks my other team members will post a short bio about themselves so you can better get to know our team. Here's some basic information about me:

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended Georgetown University
in Washington, D.C., where I studied psychology and English. I love to travel and have
been fortunate to have studied abroad in Budapest, Hungary and traveled throughout
Europe. For nearly three years I’ve worked as an Ecommerce Merchandising Assistant
for PBteen, a home furnishings retail company. I live and work in San Francisco. In
my spare time I love watching movies, hiking, spending time with friends, trying out
new restaurants and volunteering. I’m the current Community Service Chair for the SF
Rotaract Club and have been an active member since 2008. I couldn’t be more excited
to be part of the 2011 GSE team & honored to be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fisherman's Wharf!

Pacifica Practice Dinner

Last Sunday our team was invited to dinner hosted by the Pacifica Rotary Club. This club has been a huge supporter of the GSE program, with two of its members serving as GSE team leaders the past two years (Wendy to Sweden & Dave to Italy, both pictured above). We enjoyed a delicious meal, met amazing Rotarians (are their any other kind) and practiced our presentations in front of an audience for the first time. It was a fantastic night filled with club stories, GSE tips and some tasty cupcakes too boot. Thank you for being such incredible hosts.

T Minus 29 Days & Counting

In 29 days, our Rotary District 5150 GSE team will be boarding a plane to Campinas, Brazil & beginning our incredible exchange program. For 1 month, we'll be staying in Rotarian's homes, making vocational visits, speaking at Rotary Club meetings and immersing ourselves in Brazil's vibrant culture. What a privilege this is & we couldn't be more humbled & thrilled about it all. Our team will be updating this blog along the way so you can take this journey with us. Viva Brazil! :)
